Both members of The Black Keys had horrible jobs before they made it big. At one point Patrick Carney, the one with the glasses, worked for a telemarketing company which he described as "the most soul-crushing experience I've ever had." This was in partially due to the fact that while he was working there somebody had smashed all of the windows and stolen the stereo out of his of his 1994 Ford 'Escort' station wagon. After that, Patrick drove around with no windows listening to mixed tapes on an old boombox he kept in the back seat.
